About SCADADCSSIG

The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Distributed Control System Special Interest Group (SCADADCSSIG) is a Calgary based community of professionals involved in the implementation and support of SCADA and DCS. These two systems have converged and their traditional boundaries have blurred, which is why we've blended these two disciplines into the same group. 

This SIG will focus on the new ANSI/ISA-112.00.01-2025 SCADA Systems - Part 1 "SCADA Lifecycle, Diagrams and Terminology", which provides a suggested framework for modernizing supervisory control and data acquisition systems, making them easier to design, build, operate and maintain. Practitioners utilizing SCADA, DCS and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems can utilize the standard to improve work processes, streamline efforts, and educate the next generation. 

We meet in person once a month, on Wednesdays at 4:30pm, with the exception of June, July and August and December.

The Goals

• Share SCADA and DCS industry lessons learned & best practices with others.
• Discuss the standard and how it will help end-users and system integrators define requirements, specify, design, procure, configure, program, build, FAT, and SAT a greenfield or brownfield SCADA or DCS system, and implement system upgrades or additions.
• Host everything from presentations & roundtable discussions to educational events and knowledge sharing activities, that are relevant to the SCADA and DCS community.
• Provide feedback and input toward the world’s only comprehensive consensus-based SCADA standard.  
• Grow the local SCADA community.
